I am on tranqs for the same reason people are on GHB- I don't hit NREM stages 3 and 4 of sleep. I need a tranq to put me there, otherwise I would just constantly dream all night.

I tried the Provigil 3 different times. The first time I tried it, it kept me up all night. The second time I tried it, I had nausea so bad that it kept me up all night. However, my doctor kept pushing it because the ritalin made my heart race (resting heart rate 150) and the provigil wouldn't be as dangerous for me. The third time I tried the Provigil, it worked for me, and I've been on it since. Not only can I sleep at night, but the Provigil doesn't interfere with my naps during the day. It works differently for different people, but had I given up on it on the first or second try, I wouldn't be able to get up every morning now. It's by no means a miracle, but it is a big help now that I can tolerate it.
