Blurred Vision?

Posted by SleepyAdia on November 19, 2003 at 16:33:31:

Is blurred vision part of cataplexy?

I had missed one of my pills last Saturday. I usually take one provigil around 7am and then another one around 11 am or noon.

I didn't get the noon dose.

So I was very very sleepy Saturday night and I had the most trouble waking up on Sunday morning. I had the sleepy attacks when trying to get up, where my eyes want to cross while trying to force myself to wake up.

My vision was sooo blurred. You know how a person will be so tired at night, and you blink and it is blurry, like something is in your eye, and you blink again and it is clear? Kinda like gunk in your eye.

Well, no matter how much I blinked and rubbed my eyes, it would not clear up.

I stumbled into the kitchen to take my provigil and my synthroid. But I could not read the bottles to see if I had the right pills. So I took the bottles that I thought were the right ones, and I took my drink with me to the bedroom and had my husband check to make sure I had the right meds, cuz I could not read it at all. And I am glad he was there, cuz I did not have the right pills at all.

So I took the pills, and I sat on the couch while watching a lil tv, trying to wake up. But I decided to give up and go back to bed. When I got up, I could not hardly walk. It was like I was stepping on a very uneven floor! I stumbled and wobbled all around, until I finally got my footing.

I went back to bed, and slept for another 4 hours and then I was able to wake up. And my vision was finally clear.

Is this a typical sign of C? I have noticed more of the C symptoms since taking the provigil. Nothing really drastic. Just mild things such as having a hard time holding on to things. Sometimes dropping things, and weakness in my legs. Like my knees will give out.

But I never experience that blurred vision thing before.

Any thoughts?
