Cataplexy & Fluorescent Lighting

Posted by Javacat2000 on January 19, 2004 at 17:30:55:

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this:

Whenever I walk into a business that uses fluorescent lighting, I experience cataplexy. It's pretty minor and mostly occurs in my face and upper body in the form of sagging facial muscles and dropping things, and I tend to start feeling weak and sleepy. I did a search on the keyword fluorescent and didn't find anything here. My cataplexy is pretty much under control with medication, except in these situations! Has anyone read anything about this, or experienced it themselves? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
