What happens is the Provigil interferes with the uptake receptor used by the birth control pill, and the birth control leaves your body too quickly to be effective. This rate depends on a lot of factors - how high the hormone dosage is in the pill, your metabolism, etc.

Therefore, there's no guarantee ANY birth control pill will work. My gyncologist recommedned a backup method no matter what as long as I took hormonal birth control.

I'm going the IUD route as soon as I get approval from my insurance company.
