Posted by Rebecca on January 21, 2004 at 10:17:32:Hi everyone. I've been on Provigil for a few months now, 200 mg a day, and I'm afraid it's not working as well as it was in the beginning. I don't experience side effects at all, but it also doesn't seem to make that much of a difference. I've noticed my caffeine intake slowly going up and up over the last month or two to compensate. It's really frustrating because the Provigil seemed to be working really well in the beginning - more alert, more energy, etc. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions? I'm wondering if I should take a break from the meds in hopes that the effectiveness will return when I go back on, but I'm not sure how long of a break it would take, or if that would even work. Any advice would be helpful. Also, I don't know if it's relevant, but it's questionable whether I have narcolepsy. One sleep doc diagnosed me with it based on my MSLT, but another thinks it's just that we've been unable to find an effective treatment for my upper airway resistance syndrome. But either way it is obvious from my MSLT that I am very sleepy.
Thanks,
Rebecca
