please help (dexedrine side effects

Posted by tlundg on January 29, 2004 at 13:08:08:

Hi everyone, I really need everyone's help on this question. Of
those of you who have taken Dexedrine, have any of you felt like
over time you have become very irritable, aggressive, mood swings,
get in fights with loved ones, violent or losing your temper easily
when you never had before and you just don't know why? Any
paranoia, or worring when there really is no reason to. Anyone
please repond!!!
The reason I am asking this is because I have been on Dexedrine for
9 years (since i was 17) and after 7 years i switched to the
extended release spansules at 15MG a day. Over time since i have
been 17, my moods and personality seem to have changed. I NEVER
lose my temper, and have been usually easy going. Over time my
moods have gotten more and more volitile. It seemed to excellerate
when i beagin taking the extended release Dexedrine. Anyway, I lost
my temper a couple times with my g-friend and hurt her. I didn't do
anything terribly hurtful, just squoze her arm or the back of her
neck, and i pushed her to the floor once. THIS IS NOT ME! I can't
explain my behavior, it happens over a split second, then i realized
what i did and i jsust sit and cry about it...I feel so guilty I
could die!!! these incidents were isolated and have occured over
the last year and a half about 3 or 4 times. I've heard that
dexedrine may cause these symptoms but wasn't sure. After this last
episode 3 1/2 weeks ago, my g-friend broke up with me (i don't blame
her) I finally just switched medication to Provigil and i feel like
a totally differant person. I wish she'd let me talk to her so I
could explain it...but She won't talk to me or see me. Anyway, I
just need to know if these symptoms are related to Dexedrine. Sorry
to everyone for the long post, and for telling you my
problems...forgive me for being scum and losing my temper with a
woman. I just can't explain what happened.
Anyone's comments would be greatly appreciated.
