I'd hate to take issue w/ Dr Dement, but I fully believe that Provigil causes immense sleep deprivation, and thus I would think quite the opposite is true. Not only is it known to cause insomnia, but all of the long list of side effects I had on it, my sleep dr said were signs of sleep deprivation.

I'm surprised to hear that Dement made such a comment as it is my understanding that the way Provigil works is not understood yet. And in my opinion, it doesn't work.
