I think your best bet for staying awake in class is to stand at the back of the class. Explain the situation to your teachers; they would certainly rather have you stand than watch you nod off. In my experience, those devices you wear on your ear don't work. By the time your head droops you have long since stopped paying attention. I have been dealing with N for close to fifty years and I haven't fallen asleep on my feet yet.
