Please be VERY careful when taking over 400mg of provigil. I took 600mg of provigil at doctors orders for several months. After, having trouble at work because of microsleeps, I took some time off. Since I was off, I decreased my Provigil down to 400mg. It was after this decrease, that I realized that ever since the increase to 600mg, I had severe short term memory loss. The only problem was that I didn't remember that I was forgetting things all the time. I continue to have the short term memory loss at my current 400 mg dose. So, please be careful and monitor your symptoms. Cephlon now reports that doses over 400 mg do not show increased benifit and the side effects compound. If you are interested in citations let me know. Additionally, if you have suffered short term memory loss due to provigil please see the string I have posted concerning this issue.
