You don't say what kind of doctor you went to. If an internal medicine doc or family doc or other, you should ask them for a referral to a psychiatrist, who is better qualified to determine if you're "mental" or not. It might seem like a hassle, but it might get you one step closer to a real diagnosis of N, as the shrink can rule out a "mental" condition. And who knows, maybe the shrink will know something about N.
