Posted by sleep4days on November 03, 2004 at 12:06:03:I was looking on this site and I came accross the term hypnagogic hallucinations. It sounds almost like would I have experienced. I will continue to dream upon waking for a little bit. I have grown used to it and it doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that about once a year I will wake up in the middle of the night due to a nightmare and I will continue to dream while I am awake. The dreams are always nightmares and they are very vivid. I will walk around the house trying to wake up but at the same time I am awake, I am still dreaming and it flip flops between me trying to wake up and telling myself its a dream to myself completely believing it is reality and being scared to death. When it is this bad, I am always wandering around and I see both my surroundings and my dream even though the images are completely different. I hope this makes sense to somebody because it is hard for me to describe. Is this normal for hypnagogic hallucinations or am I just crazy?
