thanks very much for the reply. it does help to chat. Some ppl in my life are supportive, but some family certainly aren't. The plus is that I have a good GP, but she's not highly familiar with N. The sleep doc is actually out of the repirology clinic and specializes in apnea. So it probably doesn't help, don't know what other testing they'll do, but my regular doc is going to have some discussions with collegues, see if we can't go further. The idea that it's in my head like a specialized hypochondria or that i'm having fun somehow is rather offensive though...i'm not impressed with that dr.
They've ruled out most common problems; symptoms are completely consistant with N, including mild cataplexy. If i wasn't such a chicken, I'd get a spinal tap done and get it decided one way or the other. if it's not N somehow, I still need treatment cuz i have a life i'd like back.
