11 yr old scared to death

Posted by tired on November 05, 2004 at 22:19:45:

Hi, I can remember visiting my great aunt when I was little, and I remember she had Narcolepsy. I have suffered with sleep parylsis for years off and on but never new it was a symptom of Narc. My daughter who is 8 has been a sleeper for several years now as well. She dosent have colplexy (I dont think I spelled that right) anyway, she just falls asleep whenever and wherever real easy, but she always tells me "mom i'm gonna sleep a little now". Well this morning my son had his first SP "attack". He was terrified and now I cant get him to go to sleep, he is scared to death. I no how he feels and it's hard for me to console him. We have not been "diagnosed" with narc, and I'm not even sure if I want to be "diagnosed" It seems like there is not a whole lot that can be done. Is there any advice out there for what my family can or should do?
