Sleep paralysis is not a good indication of N. The only symptom that can be conclusive is cataplexy. SP is not rare, it happens to most people at one time or another. Having more than normal episodes may be something to look at. Could be caused by many things.

Try taking the sleep test on this site and see if any other disorder come up.

There is good treatment for N so you should really talk to a sleep specialist.
