The first question I would have is: how many milligrams do you take at once and total daily?
I can tell you from my experience that the higher the dose, the more likely overstimulation starts to occur and/or anxiety is heightend. In the past, as a test, I took 500mg in one sitting about an hour before a primary care appointment. At the primary they always take blood pressure and my BP was 117/78 so in effect no change. One thing that I did notice way back was that my heart rate picked up some when I took roughly 800mg a day, every day for several weeks; however it was because of elevated anxiety. A side-effect of provigil.
Out of curiosity I have a few more questions because I had some issues a few years back with chest pain...What were the abnormal rhythms? Did you catch them on a holter, ECG, event monitor, stress test, or echocardiagram? Was the chest pain tightness of chest, a burning feeling, or shooting pain in the chest which went up into the arm or neck? Were they short in duration or lasted for a period of time.
