Am also 29 and have had narc approx 8 years, although has only been diagnosed in last 2 years. I am only to familiar with how it interferes with everything and how others including my partner interprete it as laziness. When i had the sleep test i was told to stop taking provigil for 3 days before so that the drug didn't interfere with the results. I was told that one of the criteria of a diagnosis is that you go enter REM sleep within 6 minutes of falling asleep (it only took me 2 minutes and therefore considered to be chronic...great!). When i stopped taking provigil for the test i was an absolute wreck and the nurses had to keep waking me up in between the tests! As far as i know provigil just delays the tiredness, hence the over-whelming exhaution on stopping. I have had to stop taking provigil as my daily headaches became migraines which were almost worse to deal with than the narc and have been on sick leave for the last 3 months. I have an app with my consultant in jan, where i hope others drugs will be considered.
