Hi, my name is Alicia. I'm 16 years old and was diagnosed with narcolepsy a little more than a year ago. I have had 2 sleep studies. You should have been off the provigil for two weeks before the study because that is how long it takes for the provigil to get out of your system. Also, when determining whether or not you have narcolepsy, the doctors usually look at your sleep cycle. In my case, I fell asleep within 30 seconds of the lights turning off, and went into REM sleep after about 2 minutes. Going into REM sleep is one of the best indicators that you have narcolepsy. But yeah, you shouldn't have been on the Provigil up until the day of your test. You probably wont get accurate results from it, especially the nap study.
