narcolepsy & pregnancy

Posted by kugrz on December 09, 2004 at 13:05:17:

I am 28 and was diagnosed with narcolepsy seven years ago. My husband and I would love to have a baby, but I'm really nervous. If I'm not medicated, I can't drive, and working would be really unproductive. Naturally, I'm apprehensive about taking any medication during pregnancy.

Because I want to get pregnant, my doctor switched me from Provigil to Cylert about a month ago. I was really successful with Provigil, and I don't think Cylert is too bad. I just need to get used to it.

Is there anyone else who went through a pregnancy AFTER being diagnosed with narcolepsy? What did you do? Would you do anything differently?

Thanks,
Erica
