Yes.

Doctors like to start out with the lowest dose in the hopes it will be effective. Having said that, amphetamines are addictive so a Doc will start you out at a low dose and slowly increase it. Tolerance is a big problem with CNS stimulants. If you go to high then the most likely course of action would be to switch to a different drug.
