Ritalin and rapid heart rate

Posted by justlooking on June 14, 2005 at 06:49:23:

Hi, Haven't been here for a while. Couple of years maybe. Anyway, i have N and have used Ritalin for years. Over the past year I have had rapid heart rate on the drug followed by complete sleep once the drug has worn off. Does this happen with long term use. My current doc isn't a N doc and I don't have insurance to get a referral for this but I need something. I am to the point I am sleeping day and night and wake up feeling I need to sleep some more. My kids have had it with me as has my boss. I need to get back on some type of meds but my doc will only give the Ritalin. Is the rapid heart rate and rapid fatique a s/e of long term use? Or what?
