I haven't quick rem sleep .

Posted by snoozen on August 10, 2005 at 20:10:11:

I have been battleing eds and cataplexy since I was 17 years
old. I'm now 50. I have had 2 sleep latency tests and did
not rapidly go into rem sleep. Does this mean that I'm not
narcoliptic? Finally I was diagnosed with eds as well as
adult add. Dexedrine helps me alot, but there are times
I break thru. The doctor at one of the hospitals I had a
sleep test at wrote a letter for me to give to any employer
explaining that I wld have to have access to take naps when
needed. This idea seemed so bizarre to me 10 years ago
that I have never used this letter (not sure I still have it) as I'm afraid I'd never get a job. I can't keep a job.
Get them I can, keep them I can't. I have panic attacks or
something when I am on the job sometimes because I feel like
I need to lay down so badly. I know that it's illegal for
employers to discriminate against disabilities. Has any one
out there had any dealings with this issue?
