In words I have seen elsewhere:
Get thee to a doctor immediately!

I've had atypical Narcolepsy (no cataplexy, no gene marker) since the start of college. I didn't know it then, but looking back it's obvious. It got a bit worse when I hit 30 (I'm 34 now) and I ended up totalling my car and hitting a family- I'm pretty sure their car was totalled, too. I'm thankful nobody was seriously hurt. I had one of those episodes you talk about, how I was on autopilot without really knowing it. What if I had hit a kid on a bike instead of driving into another car? I got an appointment to see the doctor and was diagnosed, perscribed meds, etc and didn't drive again until I was sure I was ok on the meds, and I still don't drive if I'm having an "off" day.

There's two main points I'd like to make to you:

1. If you do crash into someone/something/etc. you have the potential of being charged like a drunk driver. Even if you don't fear litigation (that's iffy), how will you live with the knowledge that you injured/killed someone because you were frightened to get diagnosed?

2. You may not have Narcolepsy. Your symptoms might be something else, like a brain tumor. Make an appointment with a neurologist RIGHT AWAY!

I don't mean to be harsh, but you have more than yourself to think of here. Don't walk, RUN to the doc- call and get a referral RIGHT NOW!
