I feel like 'me' again!

ok I took a drug holiday for 18 months--I know I know---but the side effects to the desoxyn gets to be too much for me after a while. I get severely sore and swollen tongue and sores in my mouth and I can't eat and am in such pain it is worse than being sleepy all the time--or atleast i think it is until i get off the meds and go back into la-la-land permanently again. So I am back on desoxyn--only taken 3 5 mg. pills and I am MYSELF again! It is like someone turns on a light behind my head and I can SEE and HEAR and THINK!
Anyone get the same side-effects I do? Anyone got any suggestions for dealing with them? My doctor just says he never heard of anything like it and lets me go off the meds--but the Cataplexy comes back with a vengeance and it is getting to be dangerous to me now.
