I can address the meds a little.

I tried Concerta, which is a lot like Ritalin SR, it's slow releasing (hence the name). Anyhow, it did not work for me. It kept me awake, but at around 5pm I'd be _angry_. I switched to Ritalin and take 10mg 3x a day. What I really appreciate about that is that I can take a pill when I start to feel sleepy. Some days I take one pill, some days four (those are infrequent, thank goodness, and I _never_ take more than four a day).

I got the stoopids too, but on Provigil (what I tried before the stimulants). It was like a sleep attack without the sleep- my husband said it seemed like I lost 50 IQ points. ;) Pretty miserable. The Ritalin has fixed that entirely for me, and since they're short acting pills I can take them up to 6pm and not affect my nightly sleep.

Congrats on getting diagnosed! I share your relief on finding people who understand that you're not lazy or just "overtired". I got so frustrated hearing, "I get really tired too sometimes" from people- they just didn't understand. Finding out that there really is something going on besides an implied mental deficit is pretty comforting. :)
