He changed my med from ritalin 20mg 4x day (most days I couldn't fit in the last dose-would rather just go to bed early) to adderall 20mg 3x day. He told me to call and let him know how it made me feel. I called back after a week and a half to let him know that I was still having EDS (about the same as with the ritalin). When his assistant returned my call she said he had said I was at about the max dose of adderall-but wanted me to increase to 25mg 3x day. I was quite discouraged regarding the max dose. I am afraid I will not be able to find a suitable treatment. Is there a max dose for stimulants for PWN? I would think it would have to depend on the person/symptoms-but maybe I'm wrong.
I don't want my doc to think I am a drug seeker or anything like that, but I would like to feel somewhat normal (for a narcoleptic). My doc has been very understanding so far and has even mentioned perhaps using xyrem at a later time if necessary.
Any suggestions or comments regarding med doses or anything?
