Hi,

Wow provigil can cost you guys roughly $10 a pill in the US? That's pretty high.

Hey there is something that you said about provigil that doesn't make sense to me. Yes, here in Canada it is called Alertec (modafinil) but to my knowledge Sandman this is just another name used for the SAME drug. It is called provigil in the USA and here in Canada it is called Alertec. But in the end it is the same medication "Modafinil." The Canadian version of this medication is NOT generic! Provigil does not exsits here in Canada, I already checked with my drug store about that. Well actually it does exsit but it goes by a different name here in Canada and that is where you get the name "Alertec," it is the SAME drug as provigil.
I have been taking Alertec for a few years now because we did not have this drug up here in Canada until a few years back. I remember even my neurologist saying to me, "there is a know that that has just come out here in Canada for narcolepsy called Alertec (modafinil). However that was a few years back and my neuro just continued to prescribe me ritalin.

Any ways, maybe I have miss understood you Sandman but it sounds like you are saying that Alertec is a generic version of provigil (because you mentioned something about there being written on the prescription "generic ok"). If this is true then could you please provide me with some reference so I can check this out for myself? Because I will be so mad if I find out that for years I have been taking some generic drug when all this time I could have been taking the real thing!

Maybe it is legal to buy Alertec (modafinil) here in Canada if it is the GENERIC VERSION of it? That would explain why the prescription would have to say, "GENERIC OK." Yes, OK if it is the generic version of ALertec, it does not mean that ALertec is the GENERIC VERSION of provigil!!! They are both the same drug (modafinil).
