Alcohol is a depressant-- and for those of us with Narcolepsy, it can really bring on the sleepies. Prior to being diagnoses, I had falled asleep a number of times at parties and bars.

Been on Ritalin a little less than a year. I am very careful with mixing any prescriptions and alcohol but it can be done.

This is probably not kosher to say but sometimes one beer will take the "edge" off of the Ritalin in social situations. s
The single biggest piece of advice I can give regarding is is to be aware of your energy level and mood. All stimulants have a "down" after the "up" and if your Ritalin "down" and your alcohol "down" are timed wrong, you can have some severe mood and/or sleepiness effects.

I guess, as with most things, moderation is the key.
