I've been on Xyrem for close to 9 months now. I started on 4.5 ml and am now up to 8 ml. I also feel jittery and dizzy when I haven't had more than 6 hours of sleep. A big side effect that I have is memory loss and a strange kind of confusion. I don't know how much longer I'll be on it though. I now pay $170 and I seem to "build up a tolerance" to it quickly. It worked really well at first, but now I'm only getting @ 2 hrs. sleep per dose. How long does your doses usually last? I think that your vertigo may be a direct side effect if it occurs in the early AM after waking, but if it continues all day, it may be an inner ear problem.
