I'm staying awake!!!

Posted by elizzzzz on February 12, 2007 at 07:10:46:

I've recently found a treatment plan that really seems to be helping and I wanted to share. I've been taking Effexor XR for my C for over a year now but I recently upped the dose to 150mg/day (taken in the morning). I also started exercising almost every day for half an hour. Historically, I've always hated exercising but I think the extra Effexor gave me the little boost I needed to get over that initial hump and now I quite enjoy getting good and sweaty on the Stairmaster. And I really feel amazing!! I'm 29 and I've had N/C since about 12 and I don't recall feeling this awake since before my symptoms started. I feel like my brain is working again; I have regained the ability to think and concentrate. And I hardly *ever* fall asleep when I don't want to anymore (only about once a week now, usually when I'm sitting at my desk). Driving is no longer a problem.

I still am having a lot of problems staying asleep at night, though. And there's always the possibility that I'm just going through one of my "up" phases (my symptoms always seems to cycle in periods lasting several months but not coinciding with the seasons or anything else I can figure out) but I plan to keep doing what I'm doing and hoping it continues to work for me.
