CS,
I have a service dog. Having one is really helpful when you are narcoleptic because your biological
clock is all off.My dog actually will bark and get me up when it is time for a pill or go to/get up from bed. I taught her myself, you can look to other service dog organizations to get assistance or a pre trained dog. Generally, it's a long wait and a hefty price tag.
Service dogs are a great deal of work. They need exercise every day. Mine is such a nooge I wonder sometimes,
"why is ahe bothering me so much?" Yap yip YAP yip yap wooOFFf. -- Drives me crazy!
It is an awful lot of work but this is what you get:
a 100% guarantee that you will get out of bed (to feed the dog), this comes with the "OMG I've gotta get out of bed to let the dog out/in or the neighbors will kill me" guarantee.
somebody to tell you to:
Take a pill at certain times (combined with a critter cookie)
That guy you saw at the end of the bed -- that whole thing was just a reeeeeaallLy bad dream-- WHEW. Good doggie, have a cookie.
a great workout buddie.
and all the other pet perks that make you live longer.I love my doggie, but she is so old that I'm struggling with the do go through and train a new service dog. I'm hoping I can teach a cat to do the get out of bed /pill thing. I'll just borrow my neighbors 175lb doberman for the afternoon jog.
What ever the case, the assurance that you will get up for work on time is worth all that work.
Good luck and good napping,
E
