When you fall asleep at work, are you at your desk or are you on your feet and moving around? I've had my share of desk jobs that could put the most energetic person to sleep (or in a trance).

If, however, you're getting drowsy while you are on your feet and moving around, then you may have a very clear sign of narcolepsy. I'm talking about getting so drowsy that you actually nod off while standing up.

In the meantime (while you are trying to figure out if your problem is narcolepsy or not), I'll give my own personal advice: There is nothing better to help fight drowsiness than a nap. Not coffee, not tea, not some herbal remedy. While napping on the job might be frowned upon where you work, try to find some "safe time" when you can rest without having to worry what other people think.
