Thanks Willow. I guess that's sort of what I'm afraid of... that the past 15 years or so we assumed I had some semi-treatment resistant psych disorder (the antidepressants ALWAYS helped more than the antipsychotics) and I find out its been N all along. As I said, my docs never liked the schiz. dx much. I had too much insight, too much focus, to really make them comfortable with that.

Somehow I think that a change in dx would be MUCH more difficult to deal with than learning I have N on top of things.

I always, always, have hypnogogic hallucinations. I chalked it up as normal. Like you, they're really innocuous. Things like a voice saying, "Super!" or "Mason jars!" Then, my voices while awake never really said anything bad, either. Hmmm.

I've had SP I think twice in the past year or so. It's not as common as the HH.

I also wake up (I use CPAP for apnea) and I feel pretty good, some days. Then I am good for an hour or two before I need to lie down. If I push it, I feel ill. I mean, really ill. I mean, fall down ill.

I have a lot of faith in my sleep doctor... she's very determined to unravel what my problem is...I'm just sort of afraid of the answer.

It might be worth, based on your description, telling her what I think might be really mild cataplexy.

Thanks SO much for your answer. It helps a lot!
