I'm not sure about memory loss. However, I can sympathize with the scatterbrained-ness. I was on Dexedrine for 6 years before switching to the Provigil. Unfortunately for me, I switched right before starting law school. The difference in my ability to concentrate was very noticeable and made it impossible to complete school! If I ever decide to go back to law school, I've already discussed switching off of the Provigil with my doctor.
