Hi. I am new to the forum and won't bore you with my long story. Basically I have been half diagnosed with N as they have tested and treated me for everything else, with no results, and so reluctantly think it is M. In my mind, there is absolutely no doubt, having read these forums for the last nine months.

I have been on Modanfinil (Provigil) for just over a month. The first week was 100mg and then , as I had no bad side effects, doubled to 200mg. I can say that so far, it has done absolutely nothing for the EDS, but my mind is a little more alert, if that makes sense. When I return to the consultant at the beginning of April, I am hoping he will increase the dosage. I am desperate to stop feeling so sleepy and stop the daytime sleeping. I am not allowed to drive, because I also have sleep apnoea, and I had to give up working because of the tiredness, loss of memory etc. I am not sure that an increase in modafinil will help, but I live in hope. I recently had a minor op, and during the next 24 hours had two separate episodes of hallucinations, at onset of sleep (I thought I was still awake ), but woke terrified. I am not sure why this happened, as I don't get these very often.
Anyway, I digress. I live in Scotland, so hope the dosage info on Provigil helps
