When I had my sleep study and MSLT, I had no apnea and I started REM sleep right away. But one thing that even puzzled the pulmonologist, I woke up sometimes 10 times an hour. I know that I often wake up, turn over and go back to sleep, but I was always so tired, that I slept immediately.

I have been on dexedrine now for a couple of months, and it keeps me awake and alert at work, but not much for energy. but I've noticed that I'm gradually sleeping less at night (and I don't WANT to do that!) I've never had insomnia, I vaguely remember being awake maybe 5-10 times a night for just seconds. Now all of a sudden, I'm awake after sleeping for four hours or so, and just lay there, and toss and turn a bit. I'm wondering what's up with that?

I never thought of my waking during the night as insomnia. I just thought I was turning over, or patting the dog, or getting up to go to the bathroom. I started taking melatonin at night, which helps for the first four hours, but then wears off. So I'm thinking about the eight hour long acting melatonin (which might make me sleepy in the morning when I'm getting up, I don't know).
