I have a different take on sleep paralysis. My Doc asked me if I ever had it and "yes, I do this several times a week when I'm going to sleep." but I love the feeling of floating away and drifting off to sleep. I don't even care if I can't move. That just means I am really dozing off. I don't have scarey things happen. I think I'm awake, my Doc says I am sleeping. On my MSLT, he said that I was asleep times that I thought I wasn't. I actually look forward to sleep, because of that feeling. I don't do it much anymore, since I ve been on meds.

I set my alarm, even on days off. I get up at the same time every day. At least that way I know I have a routine. If I get up every day at the same time, I feel fairly confident about it. Are your kids old enough to have an alarm? That would alleviate some of your worry. I think if a child is over 8, he can wake up to an alarm. My grandson does.
