Your symptoms sound a lot like mine about 25 years ago. It could be N, or it could be you have a busy lifestyle and don't ever really relax. As time went on, my symptoms got worse and I slept more. But it was all of a sudden three years ago, I realized that I was doing nothing but sleeping and working. And it was getting difficult to wake up and be alert enough to go to work. I wanted to go on disability, but there is no disability classification for laziness. LOL. and I didn't think of Narcolepsy at the time. The only reason I did the sleep study was because I had no life at all, and I wanted to try Provigil (which doesn't work for me anyway). If I hadn't heard of Provigil, I'd still be sleeping merrily along.
Everybody has different symptoms and degrees of N. Yours sounds similar to mine. But back then, I just thought I needed to take more care than everyone else. I kept to a real strict sleep regimen, and never stayed up late (except when my kids were babies).
If its interfering with your life, which it doesn't really sound like (yet), I'd get a sleep study. If its still minor, just be aware of what could possibly be in the future.
Take care.
