I can totally relate to Seabrooke's comment about the way people perceive narcolepsy. I could not stay awake for a meeting at work, or an all day seminar, much less a movie. I have even fallen asleep watching my son's baseball games and while exercising on an ellipical trainer...who knows how I kept excercising (but we are good at doing things like that :) autopilot). Anyway, I would hear coworkers make rude comments, like "did you get that?", "are you awake", "she feel asleep". It was so embarrassing that when I was diagnosed, I let them all know about the disease. It is ignorance.
