Thank you for your answers. To answer some questions: I am 22. Now the sleepiness is not a big problem, but when I was in college and had to study for exams I would sleep 10h/day, but still fall asleep while I was trying to study. I had this uncontrollable urge to sleep and it was very hard to stay awake. The worst now is the muscle weakness. Sometimes it is so severe I don't have the strength to cut vegetables and stir the food while cooking... I went to a doctor and he prescribed me magnesium and potassium and I feel better now, but I still get very weak with strong emotion. I have a a very flexible job, with no required office hours, so I find myself missing work sometimes because I feel too tired in the morning. Other days I will go, but then my mind seems to not be working properly, and I take a long time to do simple tasks. It's like my brain is stopped and my thoughts don't flow...I have booked and appointment with a sleep doctor, but the earliest opening was 31 of May.
I have had a true hallucination at least once, when I was about 13. I remember it like it was yesterday... I was trying to fall asleep and I think I did for a few seconds, but then a car passed outside and I suddenly opened my eyes and I saw a decapitated head floating near the ceiling. I was so scarred I wouldn't move, and I thought I would not be able to sleep, but I fell asleep very quickly again... In the morning I realized it was some kind of awake dream, and I thought it was normal for people to have that sometimes. Is it normal for people who don't have sleep disorders to have these hallucinations sometime in their lives?
When I wake at night I usually hear some kind of sound. Like yesterday I woke and had the impression that a plain flew above my head, and when I woke up again in the morning I think I heard the neighbor shouting "Miguel, Miguel!" but I don't know if it was really true... I always believed it was normal sounds that wake me up.
Saturday I went to a doctor because I had shortness of breath for 3 days, and I couldn't stand or sit because it would get worse... He said there was nothing wrong with my lungs and it was all anxiety, but I didn't feel anxious, my blood pressure was normal and my temperature was elevated. Now I am left questioning myself... Could anxiety cause shortness of breath without any other physical evidence of it? When someone is anxious heart rate and blood pressure rise automatically, right? Could all my symptoms come from anxiety, even when I feel calm? Because when I fell very tiered I fell calm, I would just sit or lay and not have any thought cross my mind. I have felt very anxious and not feel tired or weak. Now today I feel very anxious and have not gone to work... I don't know what to do about my life anymore. I just wish my body would feel normal everyday and I could be my normal enthusiastic and energetic self again... I feel this illness, whatever it is, is ruining my life. I practice karate but now I have been missing most classes because I feel so weak and tired all the time... I just want to know what it is...
I also think I have strange temperature fluctuations. I have started to measure my temperature each morning and it is usually 36.6ºC. When I went to the doctor it was 37.4ºC. This morning it was 36.7 and now (17h) it is 37.3, and I feel very hot. Sometimes I feel cold when I fall asleep but then in the middle of the night I wake up very hot and I have to uncover myself or even undress myself to feel better and be able to fall asleep again. Not to mention when I get cold all of a sudden when everybody in the office says it is hot, and I put on my coat, but still get chills ...
