Hi everyone

I'd really like help on this one.

I've been suffering with symptoms of a sleep disorder for nearly 8 years. Since my late teens. I fall asleep suddenly without warning. I fall asleep with warning. During the day or night. At the cinema, at theatre, while reading, watching tv, and i've been at work and "spaced" in my chair, have had a dream all in 30 seconds.
I have paralysis and hallucinations and i feel disorientated and dizzy and very confused when i get up each day. I get about 7 hours a sleep a night and more throughout the days.

My question is, what I really need help with is how to talk to the doctors! i went when i was 16 and he seemed more concerned about getting me out of his office fast, so he gave me a prescription for the pill and told me to take vitamins "for a pep up". 3 years later i went back, suffering still and saw a different doctor. This one sent me for a blood test and said it was probably my age.

I've been back this week to see a 3rd doctor, with more symptoms than ever, yet i spent only 5 minutes in her office with her telling me i was "probably just not getting enough sleep, i'll send you for a blood test anyway".

please can you all help me explain this so some one will help me !!!!! i'm not making any diagnosis of myself, but i just want them to at least offer me some assistance rather then to just keep fobbing me off and making me feel like i have to face this alone and without any help or even knowing for sure what is wrong with me.

How can I explain this so they will understand, the Dr this week kept saying "i don't know what it is" and blaming lack of sleep.

Please help!

thanks

LK
