Posted by alexchatbot on June 03, 2008 at 15:20:45:I have a bunch of seemingly random symptoms, and a few people have told me it sounds like it could be narcolepsy or RLS. I won't be able to get a sleep study for a while, but here are my symptoms, I'm curious to see what people's feelings are:
Either can't get to sleep until a ridiculous hour (at least 2am usually, sometimes as late as 7 or 8 in the morning)
Or wake every couple of hours and have a hard time drifting off again.
Or a combination.
No matter how much sleep I've had, am exhausted & foggy until the afternoon or later, sometimes have to nap or sleep late, which makes the next night worse.
Have nodded off at inconvenient times, although I usually just feel like a zombie.
Am very easily thrown off of my sleep cycle by a sleepless night, anxiety, or caffeine, drugs or alcohol
Regularly (when not working) go through periods of sleeping until 5 or 6pm and staying up until the morning, very hard for me to break the cycle.
Experience sleep paralysis, almost always as I"m drifting off, at one point as much as 5+ times a week
Hear odd sounds/have bizarre thoughts as I'm drifting to sleep which often wake me up, seems to be unconnected to SP
Semi-lucid, hallucinatory dreams, sometimes I carry on out-loud conversations in my sleep, act out movements from dreams.
Am sometimes confused later as to whether dreams were real.
Really bad leg and foot cramps that wake me up--unsure if this is due to sleep issues or some sort of deficiency though.
Some symptoms of sleep apnea--I've gained weight, snore and my boyfriend says I sometimes sound like I can't catch my breath. What could this be? It seems to have elements of several disorders. Can anyone relate?
