Thank you for responding. I am scheduled for a MSLT test the day after my night sleep test.

I found it interesting what you said about the medications. I have always reacted strangely to sleeping aides - I'm usually up all night with the worst nightmares ever. I started taking Dramamine when desparate for sleep, but I'm usually more sleepy than ever the next day. And for the stimulants, I would take them as a way to get something accomplished during the day. Without them, I'd be on the couch in and out of sleep the whole day, or at work I'd just stare at the computer awaiting some motivation to work.

My doctor has made me stop the medication as of June 3rd until my test on July 3rd. It's been a HARD week. I went through a withdrawl for 3 days, now I feel less in a fog, but sooo tired. My nightmares have returned. I woke up the other night numerous times thanks to a ongoing nightmare - I was scared to go back to bed and had to get up to make sure all the doors were locked and the cats were ok. I spent my weekend taking numerous naps and couldn't accomplish any chores. I told my boss & he responded better than I expected - he had a friend with Narcolepsy in college. I feel as though I haven't slept in weeks - which isn't the case.

Ugh... this is not fun.
