How could I fail the MSLT :-(

Before my MSLT I was so worried that I would fail it, and so I did.. I first did an overnight-register, and it showed that I fell a sleep in under 1 minute, even if I had slept 10 hours the night before. The equipment was really bugging my though so I wake up after 1 hour and couldn’t fall asleep again because I was so stressed out and nervous. I kept thinking “I have to sleep, I have to sleep, other wise I won’t get any help”. Everything went wrong that night, the neighbours had a loud fight, and the telephone rang and so on. I only slept 5 hours that night and lay awake for about 4 hours. According to the doctor I had normal amount of REM and deep-sleep, even though my sleep efficiency was down to 55%.

I did the MSLT during the day after, and again I was very nervous. I only fell asleep two out of 5 times, and it took me 13minutes to fall asleep. No REM-sleep... I thinks it’s kind of strange because I only slept so little during the night..

Normally I sleep 10 hours per night. I wake up a couple of times every night because I have to go to the bathroom, but I fall asleep right away again so it doesn’t bother me. During the days I have to take a nap to make it through the day. During classes and meetings I ALWAYS fall asleep, sometimes even on the bus. I also have cataplexi (mild) and hallucinations a couple of times. So I don’t feel that I slept as I normally do during this MSLT.

Is it possible to fail the MSLT if I still have narcolepsy or IH? My doctor wont help me now because of this and Im really desperate, Im sick of feeling like a sleepwalker  I have tried every advice the doctors been giving me, but nothing works.

Does the result mean that no doctor will believe how tired I am now? It feels like they now have on paper that I fake the entire thing 
