Misdiagnosis of Narcolepsy?

I have a relative who has been diagnosed with narcolepsy. She doesn't have "sleep attacks" like I have seen described through my research. She falls asleep and will not wake. She has fallen asleep in a grocery store leaned against a shelf and also on a bus bench. She would not wake easily either time. Yesterday she had visitation with her children and slept the entire hour, she blamed this on her narcolepsy. I would appreciate any input you could give me.
