Thanks Herman. I have an appointment with my GP - hopefully he'll have heard of narcolepsy. Can I also ask anyone - my 9 yr old daughter was diagnosed with vacant epilepsy a couple of years ago and takes epilum daily. Is there any way this could be related supposing I am diagnosed with narcolepsy. In a strange way, her vacant spells are not that dissimilar to what some naroleptics have described here in the forum. She would just go blank and stare , not hearing, or aware of anyone around her for anything from a second to a minute or more. She had an MRI scan and it showed up very frequent petit mals. She has vastly improved on the epilum but should I be watching out for any other signs relating to narcolepsy as she gets older?
