Hi,
I'm a 16 years old and I was just wondering if someone could clear things up for me a bit. Over the past (maybe) 6 months I've every so often gotten into the strange habit over when my parents wake me up to say they're going out or something, not actually being awake yet being able to have a full conversation with them. Unfortunately I wake up with no memory of the conversation which sometimes leads me into trouble since they may have asked me to do something... I found it annoying and since I have an interest in Medicine I decided to have a look over the internet for this to see what it is. Whilst there were many sites talking about ramblings happening in peoples sleep only one I've come across has had the pretty much exact same thing (http://en.allexperts.com/q/Sleep-Disorders-2557/Sleep-Amnesia.htm). This lead me to look at Narcolepsy which I heard about before and dismissed since I didn't think the two could be in any way related. However having done some research on Narcolepsy I've found a few other "signs" which I'm noticing. Like: Lack of sleep during the night with excessive sleep during the day (however I would still be surprised if that was Narcolepsy since I feel that is just a preference of body clock timing) and feeling weak after an intense emotion like laughter (could someone also explain this a bit better because I always feel weak after an intense emotion :S and it's nothing new) I also note that I can fall into REM sleep quite fast (feel sleep after about 10 mins of waking up and was woken up no more than 5 mins later to realise I had a dream in that time).
And here's the catch, there is no known family members with Narcolepsy which I thought had a large genetic factor to it...
So my question is am I being paranoid or should I see my Doctor about it? or are there any little tricks to differ from paranoia?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide,
Jon
