I knew someone who had mercury poisoning from fillings and his symptoms were nothing like narcolepsy so I did some research and this is what the EPA give as symptoms:

-Impairment of the peripheral vision
-Disturbances in sensations ("pins and needles" feelings, numbness) usually in the hands feet and sometimes around the mouth
-Lack of coordination of movements, such as writing
-Impairment of speech, hearing, walking;
-Muscle weakness
-Skin rashes
-Mood swing
-Memory loss
-Mental disturbance

The only things similar to N is Muscle weakness but it happens without laughter or other emotional feelings. So I don't think there is any overlap.

My friend had Mental disturbances as his number one symptom. He didn't want to be around people and had lots of anxiety.

So for all the N's out there don't go rushing to a dentist thinking it will cure N. However, if you are having symptoms of mercury poisoning then for sure see a qualified dentist.
