I don't have anything specific to give you but my doctor and I talked about metabolism and narcolepsy being linked. After my daughter was born in 2005 I have been in and out of my family doc. trying to figure out why I can't lose weight. I'm not perfect, but I have overhauled my eating practices and started a good workout regime and nothing....my family doc. is the one who suggested I do a sleep study because he thought maybe apnea was the cause. After meeting with my sleep doc. and discussing N he said it is ALL TOO COMMON that people that have N say they can't lose weight, no matter what. The best I can explain what he said is that when your sleep is distorted your body's stress hormones go skyrocketing which puts your body into a panic mode. This panic mode causes your metabolism to slowwwww down rapidly in order to conserve energy. Does this make sense? Anyhow, I'm completely convinced that N and metabolism are linked together, even with hypoglycemia!
