Posted by gus on August 17, 2008 at 13:32:24:I have been diagnosed with narcolespy for 6 months but have suffered undiagnosed for about 15 years. I can manage my EDS with the help of Provgil and through experience I've learnt not to get too down about it. My Cataplexy in most situations isn't too bad - (I will stumble or my head will momentarilly drop when I am amused or hicoughing for example). However during sexual climax it becomes excessive and I will loose all muscle control and will be unable to move for about a minute or so. I also have suffered from premature ejaculation in conjuction with this and find penetrative sex particularly difficult - I'm not sure whether this is due to the narcolepsy or just stress etc.. Although my partner is very understanding, I can't help thinking that I disapoint and frustrate her. Although she doesn't say anything we have had sex less and less recently and I know this is partially due to this. This is really getting me down.
Has anyone else suffered in this way - would welcome advice / support etc or indeed any confirmation that I'm not the only one!
