Hi SandMan
Thanks for your reply and advice I will repost this on the Narcolepsy Forum. Sorry about the confusion with abb. HS I have had a 24 hour sleep test although it was 3 years ago and I cannot remember detailed results. However I know that I was told that normally it takes a person about an hour or so to fall into a deep sleep were as I was shown to take only 1 minute my first nap, 2.8 minutes the second, 6 the third and 8 the fourth. I do experience episodes of weak muscles when I am scared or have a high level of stress however not when coughing, laughing, or sneezing. I do not have any catalepsy issues and my actual sleep attacks are isolated and have only suddenly fallen asleep a dozen or so times in my 27 yrs. However I have had excessive sleepiness issues from the time I was in Jr. High and often experienced and occasionally still do, nausea, headaches, dizziness, and either dry heaving or vomiting if I resist falling asleep by caffeine, willpower(not very effective)or anxiety. I have also found that during my self attempts to control my sleepiness and attend college, that if I had a test or something important the only way to not be excessively sleepy was to stay up all night by any means possible (usually fear and anxiety and lots of no doze) that I was actually hyper and had a hard time calming down to sleep the next night. My doctor said something to the effect of Hyper mania? So being said with no family history and the other main attributes of Narcolepsy hard to assess they termed my condition Hyper somnolence (HS) and because my insurance will not pay for more testing that is the diagnosis on file.
